Jimmy Carter Puts Foot in Mouth Again Blaming Israel

Carter.Jimmy.photo.bmp

Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter misrepresented a key Middle East issue yet again, this time in a CNN appearance. He has done this often in the past regarding Israel (examples – here and here). This time the ex-President erroneously blamed Israel for the flight of Palestinian Arab Christians from “Palestine.?

Carter told CNN interviewer Piers Morgan on Jan. 18. 2012:

When I first went to Israel, about 15 percent of the Palestinians were Christians and they were my friends and they were my soul mates in the worship of the same god in the same way. Now they've almost been removed from Palestine because of some pressures and encouragement from the Israelis.

Carter, unchallenged by Morgan, offers no substantiation for this allegation. But in blaming Israel for the flight of Palestinian Arab Christians, he is wrong again about Israel and the Middle East.

A Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs (JCPA) report, Christians Flee Growing Islamic Fundamentalism in the Holy Land, documents the central cause of the flight. Muslim intimidation of Christian Arabs includes assaults by Muslim men upon Christian women, demands for “protection? money and illegitimate land seizures.

Carter’s false claim is also contradicted by the facts about Israel's growing Christian population (in absolute numbers).

Morgan could have shed light on Carter's persistent Israel-bashing by asking him about his connections to Arab oil money. But Carter, like so many other severe critics of Israel, once again sailed through with a free pass from the mainstream media.

And CAMERA is surprised by this because...?

Jimmy ("I lust in my heart") Carter was the 2nd worst president the US ever had (and Obama is on his way to out-do Carter, to become the worst).

CNN (aka the "Clinton News Network", "Communist News Network"), like the rest of the lamestream media, will ALWAYS find a way to blame Israel for ANY problem in the world.

Kenneth Stein an Aide of Carter for years, wrote a great article documenting tons of Jimmy Carter's lies about Israel.

Dershowitz also shows what a liar and pro Arabist Carter is.
Carter admits he was advising Arafat to reject the Camp David - Taba offer.
As Camera pointed out years ago,
Maslama Thabet, leader of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades admits all orders to kill Israeli civilians comes from Arafat.

This is the same Carter that called Assad jr is a man of peace. Notice how Carter has been silent on 5500 Syrians murdered by Assad.
Just as Carter was silent when Assad Sr killed 20,000 Syrians in 82.
Here's Dershowitz rebuking Carter.

Isn't TimeWarner owned by the Saudi royal family?

In the 19th century Christians were about 20% [estimated] of the population in Israel, then not recognized as a separate country by the Ottoman imperial govt or the Arabs & Muslims.

@Ben N - Obama to become the worst, what planet are you on? Obama has been the greatest president in American history. I cannot imagine what you think is so bad about him. This is the president who got Bin Laden, and one who is extremely tough on terrorists and supportive of Israel. Do you think he is secretly a muslim despite his father and mother being atheists? Does the fact he's photographed drinking beer regularly not show you something? I just can't even guess any other reason you could have to label him close to the worst. History will remember Obama as one of the greats, I'm sure of it. Carter will remain the worst president.

relpy to Val:

Obviously, Val, I have not been liberally consuming the same hallucinogenics. No, I don't believe Obama is a secret Muslim; his 20+ year active membership at Rev. Jerimiah Wright's church should put that nonsense to rest.

Let's address Obama's accomplishments:
1) Unemployment is effectively over 15% -- this includes those who are currently receiving unemployment benefits (for the past 99 weeks), those who are under-employed (working part-time, or at a much lower salary they earned before they were laid off), those who gave up trying to find work (perhaps they don't have the required skills needed to compete effectively in the current market), etc.

2) Yes, bin Laden was killed during Obama's term in office, but the plans were drawn up and approved during the "evil" Bush administration. You are confusing accomplishment with the opportunity to carry it out.

3) Gas prices are now about double what they were when Bush left office.

4) The national debt skyrocketed during the last three years, even beyond the stimulus package of 2008-9.

5) And our mutually shared concern for Israel's safety and security? I think Netanyahu's response back in May 2011 is far more eloquent than anything I could write.

6) What other US president has bowed to another country's leader, such as the Emperor of Japan or the King of Saudi Arabia.

I don't think CAMERA has the space to allow me to continue, but I think these examples are just the tip of a very BIG iceberg to prove my point.

Carter is an old, anti-Semite who failed in every aspect of his disgraced presidency. He is in the pocket of the Saudis who bankroll him. When will the American media wake up to this ignorant liar and fraud?
