New York Times Makes Rocket Attacks Disappear with Smoke, Mirrors, Euphemism

Readers of the New York Times today are unwitting witnesses to a remarkable vanishing act. Reporters Isabel Kershner and Fares Akram take the reality of hundreds of rockets and mortars fired at Israel from Gaza in 2010 and 2011 and, with deft slight of hand, make it disappear:

Hamas has largely maintained the fragile cease-fire that went into effect after Israel ended its three-week military offensive in Gaza in early 2009. The smaller factions in Gaza are less committed, but are under pressure from Hamas to comply.

"Less committed to a ceasefire" is apparently the newspaper's new euphemism for "committed to incessant and indiscriminate rockets attacks."

In 2010, Palestinians fired 365 rockets and mortar shells toward Israel, according to Israel's count. And through September of this year, another 566 rockets and mortar shells were launched by Gaza-based groups, including Hamas, according to Shabak monthly reports.

That's nearly 1,000 projectiles in less than two years. Or, if you're a New York Times journalist abandoning facts and precision for euphemism, it's just an imperfect commitment to a cease-fire.

Keep on that Kershner... she's a Houdini when it comes to Israel. Good work here.

"I am less committed to reading the New York Times" Translation: I will never pay for a subscription to New York Times.

I had a 46 year career in the wholesle distribution of newspapers and magazines in the greater metropolitan area of NYC. The last 23 years I was treasurer of an important distributor for the NY Times. I was very proud of our association with NY Times; however, since, my retirement in 1993, I have seen a great change in the way it presents the news. It is no longer an unbiased presenter of the news. I can almost compare its present form of journalism as being very close to the Chicago Tribune of the 1930's.
The present publisher is a disgrace to his family's name.

All of these news article complaints are perfect example of the "Jews control the media", double edged sword of Jew hatred. First is the fact that so many Jews are in the media as reporters, editors etc. So Jew haters say, the Jews control the media. The second edge is what do most of these Jews do with this control? They publish these same articles that CAMERA is fighting against. They are completely anti Israel. I say if Jew haters are going to complain that Jews control the media, then the least they could do is be factual and not so blatantly anti Israel in their reports. I am so tired of Jews that are working to destroy Israel. I just don't get it!
