Surplus of Eggs in Gaza?

Good news for Alice Walker, Amira Hass, and the rest of the upcoming flotilla participants -- no need to bring along chickens or eggs as part of their cargo. Eggs, apparently, are in oversupply in the Gaza Strip, where a new and innovative use has been found for them.

The New York Times has a story about a building boom in Gaza. Hardly a sign of poverty and starvation. Still the NYT had to weirdly quote flotilla organizers saying that they need to sail to Gaza because the situation there is more tragic than in Africa (where thousands are being massacred daily) because it can be improved.

By their logic the situation of poverty in the US is even more tragic. Why don't they sail the flotilla here?

Here is a link to Ethan Bronner's bizarre "news story:"
